Travis was born and raised in North Dakota.  He graduated New Town High School in 2000.  After high school, Travis went to work full time for the Mountrail County Soil Conservation District, located in Stanley, ND.  In 2009 he switched from the soil conservation district to working directly for the Natural Resource Conservation Service as a technician until May of 2013.  Travis transitioned to retail agronomy and worked in two different locations, the second location made it possible for Travis and his wife to move to Pierre, SD.  While in Pierre, Travis became interested in insurance, so he obtained his property/casualty, life/health, and crop licenses.  During this time, Travis was also attending college online. He graduated on December 8th, 2018 with a B.S. degree in Management from Northern State University located in Aberdeen, SD.  Travis’s wife, Maranda, is originally from Sturgis, SD, so it was always their goal to move to the Black Hills of South Dakota.  Going to work for ARS gave them this opportunity and they jumped on it as fast as they could.  Travis and Maranda currently reside in Rapid City, SD.
